Baigent Digital completes successful digital consultancy project for international charity IFAW

Jul 10

The ‘International Fund for Animal Welfare’ (IFAW) appointed Baigent Digital to help turn its complex and comprehensive requirements for a new online presence into a suitable technical ‘request for proposal’.

The scope was mighty…a new online eCRM platform that will allow IFAW to engage with its supporters in 17 countries, in their own languages and include advocacy actions such as accepting donations using the local payment methods and currencies.  To develop a coherent view of its supporters and to leverage the vast amount of data the charity already has, integration with its existing offline CRM database was a central requirement.

Baigent’s Operations Director, Jim Raymond commented “Working exclusively with IFAW’s US team meant all meetings were conducted via conferencing facilities.  For one meeting we had the IFAW team in Cape Cod on the east coast of the US, a US-based vendor on the west coast, an IFAW team member in Lebanon, our Steve in Hertfordshire and myself in London!  Our collaboration technology made meetings and ultimately a project like this possible and enabled us to work effectively and productively wherever we were."

The eight week project is now complete and successfully resulted in an RFP document suitable for distribution to vendors.

We set about producing a clear definition of IFAW’s requirements, producing high level information architecture diagrams and working up possible solution options. We then engaged with all the best-of-breed eCRM and payment providers worldwide and produced a shortlist of suitable vendors who could confidently provide the required services.
